I do clean it every couple of weeks, so maybe these other people forgot to clean their diffusers and they got gunked up and stopped working. Anyway, I just put my water in, add some drops of essential oil, turn it on, and relax. Automotive aromatherapy diffusers are used in automobiles to improve the fragrance of the air within the passenger compartment. They are normally plugged into the empty cigarette lighter socket of a conventional automobile. The electrical system of the automobile, among other things, energizes an internal resistor which provides heat to a fragrance laden pad. The heat from the resistor energizes the fragrance in the pad and dispels the fragrance to the interior of the passenger compartment.

One of the problems of such a device is that the heat from the resistor is not adjustable in present diffusers. The inability to adjust the heat leads not only to the inefficient diffusion of the oils in the fragrance laden pad, but also in circuit boards presently used, the risk of system failure and even fire are always present. In addition, present diffusers have no cover to surround the heated pad to prevent one from touching the pad and being burned.

It is therefore a principal object of this invention to provide an automotive aromatherapy diffuser that is capable of regulating the heat provided to the fragrance pad in a safe and efficient manner.

Another object of this invention is to avoid operational malfunction.

A further object of this invention is to provide an automotive aromatherapy diffuser that is safe to use and operate.

These and other objects will be apparent to those skilled in the art.

An automotive air freshener for insertion into a cigarette lighter socket of a vehicle has an elongated housing having first and second ends and opposite sides. A first electrical contact is in the first end of the housing and protrudes from the inside to the outside of the housing. Second electrical contacts are on the opposite sides of the first end and protrude from the inside to the outside of the housing. The cross-sectional size of the first end of the housing is adapted for insertion into the cigarette lighter socket so that the first and second electrical contacts can be in electrical contact with the socket.

The first electrode control has an internal end that is connected to an internal electrode by an elongated conductive spring. Power is conveyed through the electrodes and the spring to energize several safe electrical control components within the housing to provide heat at varying temperatures to a fragrance laden pad and to operate the fragrance emitting phenomenon. A cover is connected to the electric diffusers and surrounds the pad to protect against injury.

The vines wrap all the way around the warmer and with such detail that the picture on here couldnt pick up. The glass bowl is your standard bowl and is kind of thinner than expected, but I have also found these to be very easy to replace if need to (mine worked perfect). Its made of soapstone, which is great being 100% fire proof, great weight so it doesnt knock over easily, (I have dogs and sometimes their tail might hit things) and the tree/vines going around the warmer is absoultely beautiful. Very much worth the price. When it was bumped into, it just scooted, it didnt knock over or splash or spill. The bowl is deep enough it actually holds the liquid just fine. The seller was very fast, packaging was great too, and it came earlier than it was scheduled to! I would reccommend this to anyone that is looking for a unique gift, want a more decorative warmer, or even wanting something that isnt big and can easily be knocked into. Great seller! Check Out Reed Diffusers

A reed diffuser is a good way to add fragrance to an area. The advantage of a reed diffuser is it supplies a fragrance scent without the need for a flame or electricity. This allows a reed diffuser to be used in a location that a candle would not be allowed. Such as some offices, dorm rooms or fire restricted areas. The additional advantage of a reed diffuser, at least oil filled reed diffusers is that they last a long time without a re-fill. Our reed diffusers at Essential Pleasures are all oil filled. This is not true of less expensive alcohol filled reed diffusers wish are used up more quickly. We have gotten many months of use out of single oil filled reed diffuser in our home.

The principle behind the operation of a reed diffuser is the fragrance filled oil travels up the reeds to then disperse the fragrance in the air. The more reeds you use typically 9 to 12 reeds the stronger the scent. The fewer the number of reeds used in a reed diffuser the weaker the scent. That way you can control the amount of scent by adjusting the number of reeds used. It is best at times to flip the reeds over, especially when first starting the reed diffuser to get the action started or to improve the action if the scent has weakened in the area. You must be very careful when working with a reed diffuser; the fragrance filled oil can remove the finish on any surface if spilled. Normally when flipping the reeds I remove them slowly wipe the removed end with a paper towel then place them back in the diffuser.

Reed diffusers are supplied in many different designs to match almost any décor. They work best in small rooms such as baths, which need just that right amount of scent. At Essential Pleasures we also sell .the diffuser oil and reeds separately, this can be used to refresh a reed diffuser you already have or to make a vase or container you have into a reed diffuser. We do recommend that you change the reeds in a diffuser when you add more fragranced diffuser oil. Over time the reeds will clog and not work as well as when first started.

A nice addition to a reed diffuser is an aroma bud. An aroma bud is a rose made out of thin wood. These buds look exactly like rose buds and work just like reeds in a reed diffuser. The aroma buds must be kept from direct contact with the diffuser oil since it will damage the glue on the buds we recommend at least six (6) inches from the top of the oil, not the stem just the bud itself. The stem of the bud is placed in the diffuser oil. We also do recommend that reeds be used in addition to the buds for additional fragrance throw. The buds are available in many colors and make a wonderful rose bud display to add to your décor. The buds can also be used with out the diffuser oil and used with a linen spray that is sold at Essential Pleasures to add fragrance to the rose buds. We carry over 400 fragrances at Essential Pleasures. We are sure you will find many you like. One we sell is called fresh cut roses that smell just like a bouquet of roses.

Please make sure that you keep reed diffusers and diffuser oil out of the reach of small children and pets.

It's a musty smell with a hint of vanilla. Reminds me of something my grandmother would keep in her bathroom. My boyfriend kept complaining about how awful they smell, and he's a very laid back, no-complaints kind of guy. These are not lavender scented. The strong smell I expect from an oil diffuser lasted about 2 days, and now I have to flip the sticks every day in order to get some kind of aroma to waft 3 feet from the diffuser. The sticks came bent/broken and different heights. I wanted to love this item, but it's a total waste of money. I walked right up to the bottles on several occasions and sniffed the bottles just to be sure I wasn't crazy. There is fragrance in and around the bottle but to say it fragrances the whole room is a bit of stretch. The bottles are empty now and I'm just going to refill them with another brand reed diffuser oil. I gave it two stars because the glass bottles are nice. Great concept, poor execution. The heat from the lamp activates the scented oil and infuses the room quickly-a cheaper method with much better results.
