A tiring day at the office with the head feeling heavy and the muscles in the body a bit sore will all disappear after a warm bath or a massage. Unfortunately, the prices for such services are quite expensive so this can’t be done regularly.
If the same oils applied to the body can do wonders, why not use the same thing by simply inhaling it? This idea brought about aromatherapy and studies have shown that more people are getting into it.
Aromatherapy comes from oils extracted from plants or trees. A few examples of these are chamomile, jasmine, lavender, sandalwood and ylang-ylang. These are packed in small bottles and pouring a few drops into warm water or using scented candles has an amazing effect on the person.
But what makes an aromatherapy bath so effective? The key to this is the various scents, which enter through the nostrils and then sends a signal to the brain. It gives the person a certain high making one feel happy and refreshed.
This truly makes an aromatherapy bath different because the scent of the soap or shampoo used can never be compared to what the oils have to offer. After lying in the tub for maybe fifteen of l5 minutes, the individual can get up and then take a shower to rinse everything off.
The nice thing about this new trend to take away stress is that an aromatherapy bath can be done at home. This will truly save a few dollars instead of going to the spa especially when the different oils can be purchased online or from a store.
Sometimes, instead of just using one scent, it is possible to mix a few drops to create something that will have a stronger effect.
A good example that will help relieve body aches and pain is mixing 20 drops of lavender oil, 10 drops of rosemary and blackberry, 5 drops each of peppermint and cypress oil mixed with some massaging oil to make the pain go away.
Another great idea to mix into the warm water is 20 drops of geranium, 10 drops of bergamot and ylang ylang with 5 each of frankincense and cedar wood. This should also be mixed again with massaging oil before putting it in.
Aside from oil and candles, some have even tried using bath salts that will dissolve in the water. The person can even play some soft music in the background transforming the bathroom into a miniature spa.
Before trying anything, it will be a good idea to check if the individual is allergic to any of the oils used. Sometimes doing a few experiments when mixing one scent with the other should be done beforehand to be able to enjoy the experience. The person could discover something new that has never been tried before until now.
The person should be aware that aromatherapy is not the solution to someone who is suffering from a serious ailment. However, studies have shown that it can help improve or even strengthen the immune system.
So the next time the person feels stressed, instead of taking some medicine, perhaps lying in the tub won’t be a bad idea after all to be able to recharge those all batteries and getting geared up for another day at the office.

October 15, 2010 This review is from: Supreme Aromatherapy 100% Pure Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils Set (Essential Oil Gift Pack)- 64/ 10 ml (Health and Beauty)What a treat to get this set in the mail. Not only did it come pretty much overnight, it was so nicely packaged and wrapped. But the biggest surprise came when I opened the boxes. I have been in the aromatherapy world for a lot of years and have seen my share of bad oils. This company is top notch in everything they do. The oils are very high quality, the labeling is classy. This set had just about everything someone could ask for. Great mixture of all the top 64 oils. Would highly recommend. Also, purchased a 64 oil holder with it, that works great. Thanks! I will be returning.

March 2, 2011 This review is from: Supreme Aromatherapy 100% Pure Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils Set (Essential Oil Gift Pack)- 64/ 10 ml (Health and Beauty)I love, love, love this set. I have fallen in love with these oils. It is not an understatement when I say I am very impressed. I received this set form my husband for Christmas. I was sad to see one small gift under the tree from him. When I opened it, I understood why. It was full of many wonderful aromas- from fruity to earthy and everywhere in between. Each oil is beautifully packaged in colorful colors, pretty enough where I want to set them all out. It makes me smile to see and smell them all. The oils themselves are very high quality and I have been known to be picky. I would highly recommend to anyone- from the first timer to the advanced. Thank you!!!

April 21, 2011 ByAmazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)This review is from: Supreme Aromatherapy 100% Pure Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils Set (Essential Oil Gift Pack)- 64/ 10 ml (Health and Beauty)I purchased the beginner Essential Oil set offered by Eden's Garden during Christmas 2010 for my wife who is a physical therapist and wanted to incorporate aromatherapy with her patients. She tested those out for a while and has diffused the oils and used them with carrier oils for massage, as well. The aromas were great and did not cause any skin irritations when used with carrier oils. So, when her birthday came around she specifically asked for the Supreme Aromatherapy set to expand her new collection (and obsession). I ordered it in March and everything arrived in perfect condition and was packaged nicely. She really loved the set. All bottles were sealed and came exactly as pictured in the product description. You definitely get your money's worth considering the cost of the oils if you added them up separately. Overall, the Essential Oils are of very good quality, smell fantastic, and have proven to be very useful. The only thing that would help is a recipe guide or list or oils that go well together.

July 7, 2010 ByAmazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)This review is from: 100% Pure & Natural Therapeutic Grade Essential Oil- Beginners Best of the Best Set 14/ 10 ml (Bergamot, Clary Sage, Eucalyptus, Grapefruit, Lavender, Lemon, Lemongrass, Patchouli, Peppermint, Rosemary, Spearmint, Sweet Orange, Tangerine, Tea Tree) (Health and Beauty)I bought these as a gift in addition to the 6 pack for myself. I wish I bought 2 of these instead now because you get to try all the different ones so I know what works the best. But if you haven't tried Plantlife's essential oil, just buy the basic sampler set of 6 to start. You can't go wrong with them.
These essential oils from Plantlife smells great and is perfect for anyone just getting into the whole aromatherapy lifestyle. After some research on wellness and how to live healthier I've learned that essential oils are great to heal, relax and clean.
I was super skeptical when I first heard about it, then I tried a few different techniques and now I'm a believer! I've tried other essential oils before NOT knowing they weren't pure and what a difference the Plantlife 100% PURE essential oil makes, the aroma is very strong and you can tell it's concentrated stuff.
I highly recommend anyone that wants high quality value-for-money essential oils to try Plantlife's products.

This review is from: Greenair Aromatherapy Reed Diffusers, 2.7-Ounce Containers, Lavender (Set of 3) (Health and Beauty)
I've had all 3 of these diffusers set up in my home for over a month so I feel like now is a good time to give them an honest review:For starters, these don't smell like lavender at all. It's a musty smell with a hint of vanilla. Reminds me of something my grandmother would keep in her bathroom. My boyfriend kept complaining about how awful they smell, and he's a very laid back, no-complaints kind of guy. These are not lavender scented. The strong smell I expect from an oil diffuser lasted about 2 days, and now I have to flip the sticks every day in order to get some kind of aroma to waft 3 feet from the diffuser. The sticks came bent/broken and different heights. I wanted to love this item, but it's a total waste of money.

This review is from: Greenair Aromatherapy Reed Diffusers, 2.7-Ounce Containers, Lavender (Set of 3) (Health and Beauty)
I picked up two of these at a local store. I placed them in the living room and the bedroom. Try as I did, I could not detect a noticeable odor from these diffusers in either room. I walked right up to the bottles on several occasions and sniffed the bottles just to be sure I wasn't crazy. There is fragrance in and around the bottle but to say it fragrances the whole room is a bit of stretch. The bottles are empty now and I'm just going to refill them with another brand reed diffuser oil. I gave it two stars because the glass bottles are nice. Great concept, poor execution.

Essential oils diffusers help to aid people in their daily lives. Some people use them to help fight against diseases or health issues. Some use them to help clean the air we breathe. While others use them to soothe their sense of smell when trying to relax or achieving a comfortable level of meditation. How you want to use a diffuser is really up to you.
There are some common questions associated with these diffusers. Here are some of them:
What are essential oils diffusers?
They are apparatuses that disperse the scent of an oil into the air by means of heat, cool air, or turned into a vapor at a molecular level. They are safe to use at home, in a hospital, and are commonly found at health spas.
What are the benefits of essential oils diffusers?
They make it easy to disperse a pleasant oil scent into the air over a large area in a short amount of time. Another benefit is the oil dispersed in the air helps to purify it while at the same time is capable of getting rid of bad smells, mold, mildew, dust mites, and killing harmful viruses, microbes, and bacteria.
What works best in essential oils diffusers?
Most oils are easy to diffuse. However, thicker ones like patchouli and sandalwood tend to be more difficult. It is recommended to not use patchouli or sandalwood in a nebulizer diffuser since it tends to clog it.
What type of essential oils diffusers are the best?
This really depends on your individual needs and purpose for purchasing one. Take into consideration the size of the room, type of oil you want to use, and how much you are willing to spend. As a whole though, electric diffusers tend to be reasonably priced, easy to use, and safe.

May 19, 2009 ByWiseWoman (South Eastern USA) - See all my reviewsThis review is from: Spa Mist Color Changing Fountain Mister (Health and Beauty)I found this on sale at GNC for $14.95! What a great buy! It's really attractive in the dark and soothing. Watching the colors change can help you drop off to sleep. Several drops of oil will generate enough scent to be definitely noticeable without being overpowering. The air quality in the room improves with the cool misting via ultrasonic means. Best of all, this mister has a water sensor and shuts off automatically. I get 5 hours out of it when I fill the water to the recommended line. It's safe, effective, and fun. I wouldn't want to pay more than what I paid for it given its size and use of less expensive materials. But at that sale price, it's terrific!

March 20, 2009 ByAmazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)This review is from: Spa Mist Color Changing Fountain Mister (Health and Beauty)This is a very good choice if you are looking for an aromatherapy or scent inducing device. Since it uses no heat but ultrasound to disperse oil there is no degradation plus there is no carbon monoxide either. This happens to be a better choice than units costing several times as much. I have found this unit selling for much cheaper else where, so shop around.

September 18, 2010 Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)This review is from: Synergy Blends- (Aphrodisiac, Breathe Easy, Meditation, Renew, Relaxation, Stress Relief) Top 6 Basic Therapeutic Grade Aromatherapy Sampler Pack 100% Pure Essential Oil Gift Set- 6/10 mlThis really is a fantastic little set of oils. As other reviewers have indicated, the blends are neither too strong nor too weak; in most of the blends you can usually pick up on the "stronger" aromas right away (for example, in the meditation blend the sweet orange is quite noticeable) but never in an overpowering manner...all the components are very nicely balanced. To be completely honest, I simply cannot praise these enough. I've really enjoyed all of them. For those who have not the knowledge & experience (or the patience) for attempting to create your own blends, these bottles would have you really well covered. A couple of drops in your diffuser, etc. and the beautiful fragrances will lift your spirits.
Also a plus, you can tell that Eden's Garden is a smaller operation which really has a passion for its products. They shipped my order the same day and it arrived VERY quickly (unexpectedly quick, in fact). When I opened the package, they had handwritten "Enjoy" with a smiley face right there on the invoice! Might not matter to some but for me, I think it's really a nice little touch that can go a long way with a customer. Really a golden buy in my opinion...

I bought it after a friend told me about it.
The patchouli in the Aphrodisiac blend is distinctive but not overpowering. The Relaxation is perfect for unwinding those frazzled nerves after a crazy day. The aroma is mainly lavender, but the other oils in it keep it from smelling all flowery. I mix the Renew blend with soap, vinager and water to clean my floors. It leaves a fresh clean scent in the house and I feel I have pushed away viruses. I think the Stress is my favorite, but cant really pick...I like them all.

I don't know how effective they are other than that but they do smell nice. With shipping it came out to a little over $4 a bottle which is a pretty good value; certainly cheaper than the closet place to me that sells these types of things.

March 20, 2011 ByMysterious Microburst "Apocryphal Raven" (Mohave County, AZ) - See all my reviewsThis review is from: Relaxation Synergy Blend Essential Oil- 10 ml (Lavender, Marjoram, Patchouli, Mandarin, Geranium & Chamomile) (Misc.)Undiluted oil comes on strong, with first impression of strong citrus/earth with a breakdown of "notes" which is fascinating. I was sniffing my wrists every hour or so and each time came back with another part of the blend dominating. This complexity is olfactory fun, like a story unfolding in scent.
Thus, it is recommended for those who are put off by an initially potent scent do as Edens Gardens suggests: dilute. Use jojoba or grapeseed oil. I'm tempted to add it to shea butter and wax some unfinished wood, just to keep the scent around me. The blend creates emotions of cleanness and clarity in my sensory realm.
To the person who wrote the one-star review: I suspect you did not dilute the oil. Then there are people who cannot handle strong scents and those whose body chemistry will not meld well with some oils, even when diluted properly. For example, oak moss smells delicious on me but sandalwood (and I've tried many) tends to develop an unpleasant "fishy" note. When I blend sandalwood with a bit of amber resin, this eliminates the fish problem.
How an oil smells on your skin can be modified according to medications you take, whether you smoke cigarettes and whether you are a carnivore, vegetarian or vegan. There are many variables in the chemistry of scent, which is why there is no "one size fits all" oil, blend or perfume.
I'm having fun with this oil and am impressed with the quality for such a low price.

March 8, 2011 ByThis review is from: 100% Pure Essential Oil Basic Sampler Set 6/10 ml (Lavender, Tea Tree, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Rosemary and Sweet Orange) (Health and Beauty)I was not happy with the quality of these oils. After losing all of my oils and wanting to replace them without bankrupting myself, I thought that this sampler would be a good idea: because these six oils truly are the most common basics, I figured that the quality wouldn't be too much of an issue and it would be safe to go with a less expensive company's products. I was wrong.
Of the six oils included in this set, the sweet orange and tea tree oils were the only ones that really seemed up to snuff to me. The rosemary and eucalyptus globulus were simply *rank.* Truly awful. I've never smelled anything quite like them before, and sincerely hope never to again. The peppermint faded so quickly that I suspect that it was already quite old when it was bottled, and the lavender was...well, I guess fine for medicinal purposes, like burns and scrapes and athlete's foot and suchnot. I wouldn't use it for any aromatherapy purposes that depend on scent, though: it is supposedly from Bulgaria, but it is harsher and less floral than any other Bulgarian lavender I've ever experienced. It smells much more like a lavandin than like the augustifolia it claims to be.
I'm not new to this, and I know what these oils are supposed to smell like. These just aren't good examples. I don't doubt that they really are "therapeutic quality," but that term can encompass a huge range of quality, and these oils are scraping the bottom. You can't beat the price, to be sure, but if I had it to do again, I'd have saved up my pennies and gone with a higher-end brand.

May 25, 2011 BySarena "super_pog" (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviewsThis review is from: 100% Pure Essential Oil Basic Sampler Set 6/10 ml (Lavender, Tea Tree, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Rosemary and Sweet Orange) (Health and Beauty)I received the oils quickly and with a soap sample which is nice, and most of the oils smell like I expect them too. The eucalyptus, tea tree, orange and rosemary are fine. However, I mostly needed the lavender oil, and it does not smell like lavender oil should. It barely has a recognizable scent at all. The peppermint oil also smells strangely sweet. I agree with the other reviewer that was unhappy with the quality of the oils. I am glad I bought the small sampler sizes instead of full size bottles. I will have to buy a lavender essential oil from the specialty website I have used before to make up for the disappointing scent of the one in this set.

This review is from: Morning Star Lavender Incense (50 Sticks)
Lavender is my favorite scent, am I please with this incense. It doesn't smell exactly like lavender, but the smell is quite nice and I have received compliments on the aroma. It's not too intense or offensive, but not too weak either. I also prefer this type of stick to the ones that have wooden sticks. It's a shorter yet long burning stick, as opposed to some much longer though faster burning ones I've tried, and when it burns out there's no little piece of wooden stick left over to throw away. A- because it doesn't smell like a true lavender.

I like good incense and it is always hard to know what you are getting until you start burning it. However, this product was a good gamble. I'll have to check out the other scents made by this brand. The only thing that I was a little disappointed in is that they were shorter than the size I am used to.

This review is from: India Temple Incense - Song of India Cones - Box of 25 (Health and Beauty)
Of all the incense I've purchased over the years, Song of India's India Temple Incense cones are the best for creating the meditative atmosphere I desire without being overbearing or distracting. Long burning and fragrant without a perfume sense make for a true "temple" experience, indeed. Highly recommend for anyone seeking the "perfect incense" for meditative use.

This review is from: India Temple Incense - Song of India Cones - Box of 25 (Health and Beauty)
This incense is one of the best I've found. It has a strong, slightly sweet scent that lingers for a while after burning. This not only gives you additional value for the money you spend, it also helps you create your meditative space without needing to light another stick or cone of incense during longer sessions of meditation or practice. The aroma is very pleasing and doesn't have any smoky/burning smell that you sometimes get with other incense. For those who enjoy a very light, airy scent, this may not be the incense for you as the scent is robust and complex but definitely not overpowering. Overall, this is still one of the best incenses I have found out there and I use this on a weekly basis.

This review is from: Red Nag Champa - 100 Gram Box - Shanthimalai Incense (Baby Product)
To be honest, this incense is amazing. It's everything about the Satya Sai Baba's blue-box Nag Champa I love, yet accentuated to the max without overpowering my nostrils/lungs. Simply smelling the stick unburned will let you know what's exceedingly different about the Shanthimalai red-box Nag Champa, as it smells as clear/strong as perfume (if Nag Champa made a perfume, generally as sandalwood? I'm guessing...). Please don't read the previous sentence as a negative!!! Considering it's dried clumps of stuff on sticks intended to burn, the fragrant/clear smell came as a surprise, and is precisely the reasoning behind the very long lingering smell that's now embedded into everything I own (gladly too).I'm very glad to have stumbled upon this brand and would recommend it to anyone who loves Satya Sai Baba's "blue-box" Nag Champa as a worthy replacement, or as a tag-along for inner Nag Champa variety ;).

Essential oils are a major part of aromatherapy. How these strong, pungent and lasting aromas are created is often a mystery to the consumer. What follows are details on three commonly used essential oils, where they are found, how they are extracted and what combinations of oils they can be used with.
Cypress Needles
Cupressus sempervirens, common in France the needles can be cut off and steamed to receive the oils contained within. This evergreen oil is a well known astringent, especially beneficial on skin that is very oily. Respiratory and blood circulatory ailments have been purportedly treated effectively with this oil.
Arthritis pain sees this aroma often work its magic when in combination with other oils, as a blend. Muscle ache or cramps associated with the menstrual cycle have also been beneficially treated with cypress oil. May also work on hemorrhoids.
Adding a hint of cypress to the traditional oils of Jasmine and Rose used to treat grievances, providing a slightly less sweet and fresher note to the concoction is highly recommended. This is the perfect arrangement of scents for a man who has had a spot of grief, been sacked, split up with a spouse or even maybe having suffered a loss.
One last use for this scent could be as a study aid as it is believed to help with concentration.
This oil goes well when mixed with Clary Sage, Fennel, Rose, Juniper, Lavender, Lime, Lemon, Orange, Bergamot, Sandalwood, Pine and Pink Grapefruit.
Clementine Petitgrain
Citrus Clementine, typically from France, the rind can be steamed so as to collect the scent.
Bitter orange Petitgrain is largely what this oil scent represents, but with a sweeter, softer far more noticeable citrus accent.
This scent is emotionally encouraging, when mixed with Vetiver it is a strong anti-anxiety concoction. Helping with aiding sleeping, it is often used well just before bed, aiding the relaxation of your mind. Has been reported as a great oil for relieving rapid heartbeats or insomnia, and also for creating blends of oils with a deodorant effect.
Clementine Petitgrain can be infused well with Bergamot, Geranium, Rosemary, Sandalwood, Rosewood, Lime, Lavender, Clary Sage, Ylang Ylang, Cedarwood, Orange, Neroli and Palma Rosa.
Copaiba Balsam
Copaifera officinalis, common in Brazil, this oil can be easily extracted through steam distillation from resins.
Although with no real powerful tang of Cistus, this resin scent has a soft, sweet and warm atmosphere. Vanilla and honey notes make this oil a brilliant autumn scent, inviting and cozy. Uncommon with the majority of oil scents that have been extracted from resins, this oil is a heart note, not a base note, and doesn’t last particularly long.
Copaifera officianalis has been used for pulmonary infections, inflammation or bronchial infections, it is generally very effective as part of most respiratory blends of oils. Lymphatic circulation is also known the be improved with this scent. Copaiba can be a relatively non-expensive extender to a lymph drainage blend consisting of Cistus essential oils.
Since this chemical is not well known it should not be used on grazed or cut skin. Used at normal diluted levels this essential oil is largely non-toxic/ irritating.
