Lavender – Lavender is one of the oils that can be applied to your skin, with out the aid of a base or carrier oil. Lavender can be applied right on the acne. It kills off bacteria and reduces inflammation on the face.
Geranium – Geranium works well with treating acne. It works really well with acne because it balances out the state of the skin. So, if you have oily skin that is causing the acne, geranium changes the oil from being oily to being more normal, which means less acne.
Tea Tree – Tea tree oil is very popular because of its anti-bacterial properties and versatility. It can fight acne, especially when added with other oils. It works great with stopping acne irritations and inflammation.
Many of these essential oils have to use a carrier or base oil to not irritate your skin. If you have greasy skin, use almond, apricot, or grape seed. Normal skin works great with sesame, calendula, or jojoba. Dry skin does well with olive, avocado or wheat germ.
